Owen Lovejoy was a relentless force against racism. Be like Lovejoy.

Lovejoy’s prominence in the abolition movement and the Underground Railroad made him a national figure and a Princeton Illinois icon. The annual Homestead Festival honors Reverend Owen Lovejoy and his contributions to our nation’s history.

We’ve asked community members to reflect on the legacy of Owen Lovejoy, Princeton Illinois’ history, and the opportunities to renew our community’s commitment to antiracism.
